Changes for DIBt Approvals

After the European Court's verdict, German approvals for harmonized products have to be revised.

On October 16th 2014, the European Court conceded to the plaintiff, the European Commission, that there can be no more rational approvals for the three construction products which had been cited because of the existing harmonized European standards (C 100/13).

The German Construction Ministry has meanwhile decided that all DIBt approvals for harmonized products will be discontinued. Thus, approvals for small wastewater treatment plants and separators will also be discontinued in 2016.

The ministry’s LAWA work group is currently working on legislation that will replace the existing ones.
